Here is the simple truth:
It’s going to be hard to catch up to Joe Biden’s fundraising. He is raising huge sums of money at large fundraising events all across the country.
And these are not grassroots fundraising events. These are high-dollar functions hosted and attended by corporate lobbyists, health care executives, a Republican casino-CEO, and a union-busting lawyer among others.
And the totals are staggering: $700,000 in a few hours at an event in Pennsylvania. Almost $1.5 million at two events in Florida.
And if we have any chance of catching up, it will be because lots and lots and lots of people like you step up and make a number of small contributions to our campaign. In short, you are our only chance.
The truth of the matter is that the American people are pretty sick and tired of the billionaire class of this country buying up our candidates and our elections.
We can win elections without begging those people for money. And, indeed, we are more likely to win with a candidate who does not.
