Republicans Take Advantage Of COVID-19 Epidemic To Reduce Voting -FAIL -We See You Republican’ts!
Don’t let the COVID-19 epidemic reduce voting participation. The Republicans thought they could reduce the vote by many different means. No level of overreach or anarchy restricts them. Don’t let them turn the Congress into a House Of Lords!
Due to the coronavirus COVID-19 epidemic my city hall has put out a stack of absentee ballots. Because it will not be safe to stand in long lines in the freezing cold and threat of infection at the booth. The right wing would like to weaken the election with the infection!
Vote.Org On The Importance Of Absentee Ballots
Don’t let the COVID-19 epidemic reduce voting participation
We’ve been hard at work scaling up Vote.org to handle the surge of voters looking for reliable information about elections during the coronavirus pandemic.
We just checked the numbers, and in the last week the number of people applying for absentee ballots jumped again. Now, 52 times more people are using our absentee ballot tool each week.
Applying for an absentee ballot is always free, and our tool makes it easy for voters in every state to check their eligibility and fill out their application.
Because of people like you, we’ve reached our first fundraising goal — we now have the financial resources we need to cover the costs of this increase in website use through April. In fact, we’re really close to being able to cover the costs related to our absentee ballot application tool through the summer.
Our engineering team just let us know that over the last two weeks, 43 times more people have applied for absentee ballots on Vote.org than usual.
No American should have to risk their health to vote. As more people are following government recommendations to stay home and avoid gatherings of people, the option to vote absentee is more important than ever. Vote.org has always worked to make applying for an absentee ballot easy, and we’re encouraged to see more voters taking steps to vote in a way that’s safe for them and their community. Don’t let the COVID-19 epidemic reduce voting participation
We’re committed to helping every voter who needs us. We calculated that in order to continue serving people at this higher pace through April, we’ll have to raise an additional $4,500.
Vote.org is a nonprofit, which means every donation goes straight into running our tools and programs. Our absentee ballot tool requires web hosting, staff time to research election laws and changes, and engineering support. We’re the most cost-effective voter registration and turnout organization in the country, and we work hard to stretch every dollar.
None of our work would be possible without the support of people like you.
We’re working hard to keep voters informed about how the coronavirus pandemic is impacting elections. Please check vote.org/covid-19 for the latest news about elections in your state.
Fellow Democratic Voters,
While you’re staying home to help stop the spread of the coronavirus, here are 5 quick things you can do to help turn out more voters in 2020 and make sure our government is representative of all Americans.
Use our free Verify tool to make sure you’re registered to vote at your current address. If you’ve moved, changed your name, or haven’t voted in a while, you might need to re-register to vote.
There have been a number of election changes because of the coronavirus. Share our Voting & COVID-19 page on your social media feeds and with friends to help us keep every voter in the loop.
Election Day is not the only day in 2020 that will decide our future. Tomorrow, April 1, is Census Day. Take a couple of minutes to complete the Census online. The information collected in the Census is used to allocate billions of dollars in federal funding every year and to determine how many seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives. An accurate Census will help ensure a more representative government.
Voting by absentee ballot is safe and secure. Each state has its own rules about who can vote absentee, but some states have expanded eligibility because of the coronavirus. It only takes two minutes to apply for an absentee ballot at vote.org/absentee-ballot.
A record number of people have used Vote.org in the last month to register, apply for an absentee ballot, and get ready to vote. We are working hard to ensure that all Americans have the information they need to vote without putting their health at risk — but we need your help to reach even more Americans. Every $3 helps us reach one more voter. Please chip in.

L ook: Barack Obama knows how to save our elections:
Voting by mail isn’t a novel idea in American elections.
In fact, 3 states (Oregon, Washington, and Colorado) conduct EVERY election by mail!!
Voting by mail brings an END to long lines, crowded polling places, and chaotic election-day issues. Republican voter suppression can’t affect the mail!
That’s why President Obama is fighting for mail-in voting — he knows it’s our silver bullet against Trump and his cheating Republicans!!
It’s the ONLY way to ensure high Voter Turnout, even through a crisis.

Sterilize your incoming mail
‘Based on a number of briefings and warnings this week about a critical fall-off in mail across the country, it has become clear that the Postal Service will not survive the summer without immediate help from Congress and the White House,’ Oversight Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) said in a statement.
Maloney, who was joined in the statement by Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.), indicated the Postal service has seen a ‘drastic’ reduction in mail volume and could shutter by the summer without intervention, a collapse that could, among other things, jeopardize access to mail-order prescription drugs for millions of Americans, especially in rural communities.
TELL CONGRESS TO SAVE THE POST OFFICE >>
Maloney and Connolly noted the House’s $2.5 trillion coronavirus relief package would send $25 billion to the Postal Service in emergency funding and eliminate the Postal Service’s $11 billion debt. The measure would reset the Postal Service’s borrowing limit to $15 billion and eliminate an annual $3 billion borrowing cap. The measure would also require the agency to prioritize medical deliveries.
The House bill would also allow the Postal Service to create ‘temporary delivery points’ and establish flexible staffing procedures if the novel coronavirus affects its operations.
The Postal Reorganization Act of 1970 turned the Postal Service into an independent agency within the U.S. government that was primarily responsible for funding itself, something that has become harder since the internet era led to a dramatic drop in the volume of mail. Beyond that, the Postal Service has been required since 2006 to pay at least $5.5 billion annually to pre-fund retiree benefits.
